(ContentDesk) August 22, 2005 -- South Beach Magazine has announced its annual "Fab-Five" list of Top Boutique Hotels in Miami Beach as rated by its readers and staff.
Each year the magazine combines feedback received from its readers with its own research to assemble a list of top boutique hotels the magazine feels will provide an outstanding vacation experience for Miami Beach visitors."Every year travelers ask us for recommendations on restaurants, nightclubs, cafes and spas in Miami Beach, but the one request we receive most often concerns hotels," said South Beach Magazine editor, Joseph Brown. "The proverbial 'room with a view' doesn't quite cut it for the Miami Beach crowd. They want hotels with access to premiere dining and especially a hot nightlife scene -- they want to experience the Miami Beach they've read about," said Brown. In compiling their Fab-Five list, South Beach Magazine looks for hotels with a trend-setting interior design and furnishings, proximity to upscale shopping, nightlife, and dining, and of course, easy beach access.Trends in Miami Beach change with every winter season making it difficult for visitors to follow to the scene. As a prime example the magazine cites the Abbey Hotel?"The Abbey up on 21st Street used to be at the far northern limit of South Beach action, but over the last two years the nightlife scene has expanded heavily into that area -- now known as the 'Cultural Arts District' -- and the Abbey finds itself right in the center of some of the hottest clubs in town such as Mynt, Rok Bar, SkyBar Miami Beach, and a new venue named Mokai which promises to be a South Beach trend-setter for the coming season," said Brown. The magazine releases its list in late summer to allow travelers ample time to plan their visits. Unfortunately, people sometimes find that Miami Beach's prime hotels are sold-out during numerous events such as MTV's Video Music Awards, Winter Music Conference, White Party and others.South Beach Magazine's complete list of top boutique hotels can be seen at www.southbeach-usa.com.South Beach Magazine is an online publication which chronicles the Miami Beach scene with interviews, profiles and articles on trends in nightlife, hotels, dining, and shopping..

Free Live Streaming Cams of Daytona Bikeweek
Perhaps it was the appeal of hard sand, warm winter days and the excitement of that first motorcycle race on the beach, that made Daytona Beach the home of Bike Week. Maybe it was the spirited activities surrounding the event that have kept people keep coming back. Whatever the case, Bike Week has been a tradition since January 24, 1937 - the inaugural running of the Daytona 200.The 1937, race course ran approximately one and a half miles north on the beach; through a 1/4 mile turn where the sand was banked, and then onto the paved, public roadway portion for the trip south. Coming back on the final turn, another high sand bank awaited riders as they raced on the hard sands of the beach. Interestingly enough, starting times for these events were dictated by the local tide tables.
The races continued from 1937 to 1941. In the early years the Daytona 200
was also called the "Handlebar Derby" by local racing scribes. In 1942, the Daytona 200 was discontinued because of World...
Swimwear That You'll Feel Comfortable In
Finding the right swimwear can be a fun and also a stressful experience. You want to look your best in the swimwear of your choice at the beach. Light, colorful beach clothing will make you feel comfortable and cool. Some of the varieties you can find in swimwear are the following:Bikini -- This once-shocking is the granddaddy of fashion swimwear. Looks newest now in super-skimpy triangle, side-tie bottoms.
Look for built-in push-up bras, underwire and sculpted cups for extra curves.Tankini -- A variation of the bikini, has a longer top that leaves only a small portion of the tummy exposed. Don't want to expose your tummy at all? Go for the mock tankini.Bandini -- A bikini with a bandeau (straight, striplike piece of fabric) top.Camikini -- Same as the tankini except the top looks like a camisole.Maillot -- One-piece suit (some creative types have even labeled a cut-out style the "monokini").Boy legs -- A longer leg resembling really short shorts. Careful here -- tends to make...

Timothy's Take-Out - The Little Novel That Could
Perhaps there are solid reasons for Timothy's Take-Out's success. For one thing, it was penned by Paul J. Barker, who even today continues to eat, sleep and breathe fast food. He operates a restaurant in Southern Ontario (that he wishes to assure everyone is nothing like Timothy's Take-Out), and probably has more service-related yarns to spin than anyone in the business. The story itself is irresistible: Introverted loner Carl Fellows can spend summer at the beach only if he hires on at the wildest fast food joint in otherwise tranquil Robinson's Pt.
Young Mr. Fellows takes the job, and is immediately besieged by that which he hates most: swarms and swarms of insufferable human beings. Rather than give up the job (or embark on a mad killing spree), he channels his feelings of helplessness and rage into a somewhat unrealistic pursuit of fame and fortune.
When not flipping burgers, he's either in the gym preparing for his next amateur boxing match or holed up in his dilapidated...
